Plans announced

Hill Group has announced they are working on plans to redevelop the former Amerind Grove Care Home site, off Raleigh Road. The plans are for two new tree-lined residential streets that champion Bristol’s living, climate and ecology priorities.

The low-rise proposals include 106 new homes, with 30% affordable, made up of 54 three and four bed townhouses and 52 one and two bed flats and maisonettes (in two five storey properties). New public green and play space is included with sustainable urban drainage systems as well as on-site bicycle and car parking.

We are looking to use traditional brick as the main material finish combined with some contemporary detailing. All the homes would have low carbon heating, utilising a combination of solar panels and air-source heat pumps.

Feedback from our early engagement with officers, Design West and community representatives has been really positive and we’re now keen to hear from the community, so that these plans can be further reviewed, improved prior to planning submission.

Hill is a five-star (HBF 2023) award-winning home builder with offices across the south of England. We are working on several schemes in the city, including McCarthur’s Yard with Guinness Partnership, Baltic Wharf and Hengrove with Goram Homes, and Park Furnishers (part of the Whitehouse Street Framework). Bristol’s Alec French Architects are our architects.

To find out more, meet the team and provide feedback on our proposals, we will be hosting two events in conjunction with the launch of a consultation website:

  • An online webinar event on Wednesday 7th June at 6.30pm. Please register through the website or by email, details below.
  • An in-person exhibition will be held on Thursday 8th June from 3.30pm to 7pm at The Tobacco Factory, Raleigh Road, Bristol, BS3 1TF.

Our website is at: www.hill-raleighroad.co.uk and will be updated with further information following the exhibition. You can also register for updates and provide feedback via the website.

Planning is intended to be submitted later in the summer and subject to approval, we hope to start work next year.

Yours faithfully,

Tom
